1999Campus Master Plan includes new center for creative and performing arts in description of proposed campus developments
Fall 2000 - Fall 2001Arts Study Group comprised of faculty, students and staff is formed, conducts series of workshops, submits "The Future of the Arts" report
Spring 2002Announcement of the Chicago Initiative, a $2 billion capital campaign that includes a center for creative and performing arts as a campaign priority
Summer 2002-Fall 2003President Don Randel authorizes formation of steering committee to develop programming for new art center; Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates is hired to prepare programming study and conducts series of workshops with arts faculty, students, and staff
Fall 2004Completion of initial programming study
Spring 2006- Winter 2007Architect competition approved by Trustees, request for qualifications sent to twenty-six firms chosen by selection committee, five finalists invited to visit campus for panel discussions with students, faculty, and staff; presentations by competition finalists to jury
May 2007Announcement by President Robert Zimmer of $35-million gift from the family of Reva and David Logan to name the new center
June 2007Announcement of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects as winner of architect competition
January 2008University formally dedicates the future site of the Reva and David Logan Center for Creative and Performing Arts
